You need to move off that platform until it goes away.
You will see vines come up below the platforms and eventually create a spire on the platform. The second is telegraphed but a little less obvious at first. The first is a projectile that it shoots from it's mouth. Cagney will 2 attacks during this portion of the fight. You need to be on the 3 floating platforms throughout. Phase 3 will see Cagney place its arms into the ground and cover the ground with thorny vines. Just be on the opposite side and you'll have no trouble. You'll want to be on the other side because Cagney will stretch across the screen and take up the whole top or bottom of the screen. The other attack will have Cagney conceal its face and move to either the top or bottom row. I usually found trying to jump the first two and then worrying about the rest to be the best bet. The acorns on the other hand will shoot off with a short delay between each. You only need to either jump over it during the top portion or swap between top and bottom during the attack. The blue propeller will fly across the upper platforms and then boomerang along the lower section. These come in two varieties: Blue Propeller and Acorns. First up, the projectiles.Ĭagney will puts its "arms" together and reveal some kind of attack. One will be projectile based while the other is more of a melee strike. You need to be above or below based on where it conceal its face.Ĭagney has two main attacks during this part of the fight. Occasionally, Cagney will conceal it's face and then stretch it across the screen. If another pink hits the ground, it will instead act similar to the blue seed.Īdditionally, this phase can be fluid with one of the attacks Cagney employs in Phase 2. There can only be 1 of the shooting fliers on screen at any given time. During the firing is when you can shoot and destroy it. This will eventually fire a usually pink shot that can be parried. These chompers will chase you a bit, but can also be shot and destroyed.įinally, the pink seed (which can be parried and destroyed before planting), will eventually sprout an enemy that flies along the top of the screen. The Blue grows into a stalk that spawns a little homing bud. The Purple one turns into a little piranha flower that stays in place. They come in 3 color varieties: Purple, Blue, and Pink. They will begin to fall to the ground and plant themselves to grow. Cagney will rear its head back and fire a barrage of seeds into the sky. Cagney's main attack here is a machine gun seed launcher.
